Welcome to the Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) Club!

MESA club meets Wednesdays 3:45 - 4:45 in Room 107.

MESA (Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement) is advised by Ms. Ball (Rm107) and Mr. Yates (Rm110).

The MESA club prepares students to compete in various events that involve math, science, and engineering skills:

  • Basswood Bridge Competition
  • Cargo Plane Competition
  • Trebuchet Competition
  • Effective Communication Competition
  • Windmill Competition
The MESA club, together with the help of the PLTW engineering team, also organizes a number of field trips related to engineering.

In the 2008-2009 school year, Patterson students competed in the first three of the above events at the MESA Days Regional Competition.  Teams from Patterson came in first place in the bridge competition and second place in the plane competition.

In the 2007-2008 school year, Patterson's team received second place in the bridge competition.  In addition, Patterson student Latonya Wright won the national MESA logo competition for her design below:
