Depression affects many teenagers

In a child’s life, he or she may experience depression. Teenagers tend to experience it the most. Depression happens in high school, home, etc. Depression can happen anywhere at any time. Depression manifests itself in episodes. It can last for 6 months or longer. Friends, low self-esteem, family, problems, death of a person, anxiety disorder, nervousness, irritabity, problems with sleeping, and concentrating can cause depression. Genetic vulnerility, severe life problems, stress, health, and hormones. Depression can be treated. 20% of teens experience depression. 10-15% have symptoms. According to the website Healthplace.com, “Depression is like a bruise that never goes away. A bruise in your mind. You just got to be careful not to touch it where it hurts. It’s always there though.”
